What We Love About Newcastle
Newcastle Upon Tyne is a unique city for many different reasons. But one of the main reasons we love this city is its culture and architecture, along with the fact it’s a place that feels welcoming. We’ve put together several reasons we love this amazing city!
If you love football, you may want to visit Newcastle! It’s been said this place is one of the most passionate footballing cities in the country. Newcastle is home to Newcastle United, and you catch a game every weekend!
2. The Nightlife
Newcastle is also home to numerous pubs, bars, clubs, and restaurants. If you love glamour, then you may want to visit the Diamond Strip, located in the heart of the city. The Diamond Strip runs along Collingwood Street to the end of Mosely Street by Central Station. The venues are upmarket and glamorous! However, they can also be a tad wild and rowdy!
Next on our list is Bigg Market, which is home to some of the city’s largest clubs and mainstream bars. This area links Chinatown and Collingwood Street and is usually the busiest from Thursday to Saturday evening. You’ll find plenty of students here, too, along with themed dress-up nights. If you love to have fun, this is the place to go!
There are other places, too, though there are too many to list here! We’re pretty sure Newcastle has something you’ll enjoy!
3. The Quayside
One of the most picturesque places in the city is the Quayside. Here, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars, and cultural places. This is an excellent place to visit any time, but especially on bright, sunny days!
4. The Natural Beauty
Newcastle is called “the gateway to the north” because it’s surrounded by many green spaces and other areas of natural beauty. You can visit the beautiful Northumberland National Park. If you like remote places, this is the place for you.
The city is also near the North Pennines and North York Moors National Park. So, you can see that Newcastle is truly surrounded by stunning natural areas.
5. The City’s Culture
We mentioned that Newcastle has a ton of culture, and we mean it. The city is home to galleries, museums, and more. You take in the Great North Museum: Hancock, which features the history and heritage of this area.
You may also enjoy the Baltic Centre of Modern Art. Here, you can enjoy four floors of art in one space! The centre features sculptures, paintings, and so much more!
6. The City’s Architecture & Landmarks
Newcastle is also home to a wide variety of architecture and landmarks. Consider the city’s 12th-century castle, where you can take in some stunning views of Newcastle. Another place we love is Anthony Gormely’s Angel of the North statue, located at Gateshead, just outside the city centre.
Here, too, there are too many places to mention. But if you love famous architecture and landmarks, you’ll have fun in Newcastle.
So, there you have it! But wait! We left off one of the things we love the most, and it’s the people here. Here, in the north, we Geordies are some of the friendliest people around! If you come for a visit, we’ll make you feel welcome! But we must warn you—we love to talk and will be happy to talk your ear off!
Royal Quays Business Centre is located right in the heart of the Royal Quays in North Shields, Newcastle. Surrounded by shops, restaurants and other amenities, and only a stones throw from the Marina, we’re sure you’ll love coming to work here every day.
