We’re all busy, and our lives are getting busier. We have work to think about, family commitments to consider and somewhere in the middle of this we are supposed to be finding time for physical activity.

Finding time to be physically active can be tough and can feel like a stretch we just can’t fit in but if there’s a way to make it part of your everyday routine, that makes it much easier.

That’s where cycling to work comes in.

The Royal Quays Business Centre have made this a really easy thing to do. Firstly, the great location just a mile from the newly reopened Tyne Pedestrian and Cycle tunnels, easy links to great cycle paths to the city centre and coast means the location is just perfect. Next, if you’re accessing the coworking area you can access a locker to store your belongings. This takes a little bit of practice, maybe driving or walking to the office a few times a week to bring clothes or equipment in for the week ahead so you don’t have to cycle in with a huge bag every day!

There’s a great hot shower waiting for you to set you up for the day, and most importantly there are bike pods in view of the security guard downstairs which you can securely lock your bike in for free, just bring along your own padlock.

I’ll write more in the coming weeks about why cycling to work is so great for your physical and mental health.

Make the most of the last days of summer and get on your bike!
